Nominations were held at Richmond High School for homecoming court on the week of September 26-30th. Homecoming kings and queens will be announced at the homecoming dance and the selected will be dancing with each other for one song.
One person that was nominated quite frequently was sophomore Emma Valley. We took time to interview her and get her point of view on how she feels about being nominated. Emma Valley’s response to us after asking how she felt about being nominated.
“I didn't know that I was so that's great and I hope that I don't get paired up with someone weird cause that would kinda suck”
When asked if she was going to accept the nomination and be in the running for homecoming queen of the sophomore class, she responded with an optimistic “probably”. We will keep in contact with Emma to see if she follows through with her decision of accepting the nomination.
Another person that was nominated multiple times was sophomore Kenny Mecham. We asked him a few questions about how he feels about his nominations. First of all he was caught off guard cause he didn't know he was nominated for a position on the court. When he answered the question of how he felt about getting the nomination he said
“good, I guess”
However when asked Mecham said he would not accept the nomination.
One of our foreign exchange students, sophomore Leonie Lemmer is the third and final nominee we interviewed to get her views on it. She seemed very confused when we mentioned her nomination,
“Um..I don’t know what to think about it. A little bit shocked because why?”.
She accepted her nomination with a little hesitation, “Um…I would say yes?”.
